Bing is set as the default search in address bar in Firefox!! How to restore to Google?
I really don't like Bing and I prefer Google. If you have ever ran into having Bing or any other search engine as your default in Firefox and would like it changed back to Google, here is how. There is two places Firefox has a search engine set as a default search engine. The Search box and the address bar. To me it would make sense to simple only have one for both locations.
Address Bar
- Type about:config in address bar of Mozilla Firefox. You must confirm you know what you're doing.
- Type keyword.URL in filter box.
- Right click on the preference name and hit Modify
- Paste this into the box that opens: http://www.google.co.in/search?btnG=Google+Search&q=
Search Bar
Easy Way
- Click the drop down error in the search box and select Manage Search Engines...
- Highlight Google
- Press Move Up uuntil Google is at the top of the list
Modifying about:config
- Type about:config in address bar of Mozilla Firefox. You must confirm you know what you're doing.
- Type keyword.URL in filter box.
- Type browser.search.
defaultenginename in filter box - Right click on the preference name and hit Modify
- Gaste this into the box that opens: Google
New free applications on GetLEET.com
First a little overview. I created GetLEET.com about 2 years ago as a place to share free applications I use with others. The open-source world of applications is huge with thousands of applications that are free to use for personal use and a lot for personal and commercial use. I use open-source applications every day of my life and wanted to share the ones I have found to work well and be useful with others. I strongly suggest making donations to the programmers of the open-source applications you use on a regular basis. Open-source applications relay on your donations to fund future development and bug fixes.
I have updated GetLEET.com adding 6 new categories and 30+ new applications. You can now fine useful free applications for the following categories Firefox Add-ons, Joomla Extensions, Remote Access/Support, Server Monitoring Tools, VMware Tools, WordPress Plugins.
